Sustainability Policy

OBJECTIVE

Tuan Sing is committed to having high levels of sustainability for our operations particularly for the properties that we develop or manage, and the hotels we own but out-sourced to international chains to operate.  We strive to minimise our operations' impact on the environment as far as is practicable so as to create long-term value for our business and the communities in which we operate.

This Sustainability Policy sets out the principles and practices that are to be adopted so as to continuously improve on our environmental performance and to incorporate systainability and ecological awareness into our business practices, processes and operations.


All Tuan Sing's subsidiaries and business units are to comply with it.  This policy is also subject to regular review by the Board to ensure its effectiveness.

APPROACH

Our approach of sustainability rests on three pillars:

1. Growing Sustainable Profit - we secure sustainable growth and performance through our commitment to business excellence, underpinned by maintaining a high standard of corporate governance and strengthening risk-eccentric culture.

2. Caring for People - People are the core of our business:
  • Customers, to whom we deliver the quality development properties and excellent hotel services;
     
  • Employees, we will nurture and develop them appropiately and provide them with a safe environment so that they are empowered to make decisions on behalf of the Company and to enlighten our customers.
     
  • Communities, where we will give back through our multi-faceted approach towards corporate social responsibility.
3. Nurturing Our Planet - Our main focus is on:
  • Development Projects:  we are committed to complying with the environmental standards and practices where we operate, examples of which may include some of the following:

    a)  Green Mark certification;

    b)  Best practices as enumerated from internationally-recognised standards includes ISO 26000: 2010 Guidance on Social Responsibility, ISO 14001 Certificatre of Developers, Main Builder, M&E Consultant and Architect, ISO 14064-1 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emission and SS 557:  2010 Code of Practice for Demolition

     
  • Hotels: hotel operations are committed to achieving energy, waste and water initiatives under "Our Vision 2020: A Sustainable Plan for a Sustainable Planet".
     
  • Services: to reduce our carbon footprint whenever it is practicable.
